A Program Engineer by profession, Belal Abu-Khadejah spent over 25 years in the computer industry working for several high profile companies in the field before realizing he wanted to make a radical career change. His career was developing well and he was secure in his profession but felt the need to be more creative and knew it was time to try something different. Trusting his instincts, he left his position as a senior computer engineer and decided to devote his life to becoming a sand artist.
He had seen basic sand painting while growing up in Jordan and when he saw a similar form of art being developed in Vietnam while on vacation something clicked inside him and he knew this was what he wanted to pursue. Taking all of his engineering knowledge and experience, he began to set up a workshop and studio and studied the craft extensively before partnering with a few local talents whom he groomed into a fully-functioning artist workshop.Today his workshop employs over 20 local artists, many trained by himself and his original artists and they export their unique creations worldwide.
